ISLAND OF A THOUSAND VOICES
Cecce LanfranchiBirth
One never-ending day
Has been covered with water
with fire, with smoke silence
gold, silver
ashes
and bygone days.
There it is, standing still
That never-ending day
Silent and dead
The tree has fallen
silent and burnt
It was covered by a century
And still another century
Until,
Turned into a huge stone,
It changed its eternity.
