PROSE WRITERS OF CORSICA
Ghjacumu Thiers
Ghjacumu Thiers (Bastia, 1945) lectures in langugage and regional culture, and is director of the Centre Culturel at the University of Corsica. His literary activities are diverse and overlap with his involvement in the promotion and preservation of Corsican language and culture. He has written several pieces for theatre including: L'Orcu, U Rè, Pandora, U Casale, and U più hè per fà l'erre. Two novels by Ghjacumu Thiers are A Funtana d'Altea, awarded the Prix du Livre Corse (1990), and In Corpu Corpu à Bastia. Both have been translated into French under the titles Les Glycines d'Altea and Le ventre de Bastia (2004) respectively.
