Janice Mathie-Heck


Janice Mathie-Heck (b. 1950, Jasper, Canada) is a teacher, poet, translator, editor and literary critic, who now lives in Calgary, Alberta. Her articles and poems have appeared in The Gauntlet, Freefall, Le Chinook, filling Station, Jeta e re and Illyria. She has collaborated with Robert Elsie in translating and editing Albanian literature, including the recent volumes Songs of the Frontier Warriors: Albanian Epic Verse (Wauconda, Illinois, 2004) and Gjergj Fishta - The Highland Lute: the Albanian National Epic (London 2005).
