Angie Cruz is the author of Let It Rain Coffee (2005) and Soledad (2001), both published by Simon & Schuster. She earned her MFA at NYU in 1999. She has contributed shorter works to numerous periodicals including Latina Magazine, Callaloo and The New York Times. She has won awards for her writing and/or activist work such as The New York Foundation of The Arts Fellowship, Barbara Deming Award, Yaddo, and The Camargo Fellowship. She currently teaches creative writing at Texas A&M University. Her screenplay, an adaptation of her first novel, Soledad, has been recently optioned by Nueva York Productions. She splits her time between New York, Turin, Italy and College Station, Texas where she is working on her third novel.
