Ekaterina YossifovaPhoto: Alexandra Lozanova
Ekaterina Yossifova was born in Kjustendil, Bulgaria, and studied Russian Philology at Sofia University. She has worked as a teacher, journalist and literary editor. She has published twelve collections of poetry: her first Short travel appeared in 1969 and her most recent Hands in 2006. Ekaterina Yossifova has also written books for children. In 2004 she was awarded the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture's Book of the Year Award for Upside Down. She has also received the Ivan Nikolov Award for her life's work.
