Tal Nitzan
Tal NitzanTal Nitzan is an Israeli poet and translator. She has published three collections of poetry: Domestica (2002); An Ordinary Evening (2006) and Café Soleil Bleu (2007). Her translations from the Spanish and the English include poetry by Cervantes, Lorca, Neruda and Borges, and prose by García Márquez, Vargas Llosa, Toni Morrison and Ian McEwan. Nitzan is the editor of the anthology With an Iron pen: Hebrew Protest Poetry 1984-2004, an English translation of which is forthcoming with SUNY Press.
She has won numerous awards, among them the Culture Minister's Creation Prize for translators (1995, 2005), the Culture Minister's Award for Beginning Poets (2001), the Culture Minister's Award for First Book (2002), and the Artists & Writers Society Award for poetry submitted anonymously (2007).
