A life-long love of words and language led Susan Wilson to the University of Bradford (UK), from which she graduated with First Class Honours in Modern Languages (French and Spanish), and then to the University of Kent, by which she was awarded a Master’s degree in translation.

After 13 years as a staff translator she joined the freelance world in 2004, working into English from Estonian, Finnish, French, Italian and Spanish. Although involved mainly with institutional-type texts, she enjoys the challenges posed by literature. The largest project she has tackled hitherto was the translation of Jaan Kaplinski’s “The Same River”. Susan lives in the UK with her husband and sons.
