Dual Idioms
In the last twenty years, translation of Irish writing into English has become increasingly common. Writers today, while composing in Irish, conduct their careers bilingually, speaking to audiences, and using the media to their advantage. Some, though few, while perhaps prefering to write in Irish, are content to publish and work in more than one language. This is especially true in the fields of drama and television. Transcript presents three writers, Seán Mac Mathúna, Dermot Somers and Diarmuid Johnson, who have worked in dual idioms.
